The Engineering Numbering System (ENS) provides automated object identification numbering that allows you to apply a specific identification format section to create forms as you create objects and documents in the system. You can also reserve a sequence of ENS numbers that can be allocated to objects in the future for a specific project. The ENS identifying format that you can use is defined in an ENS definition that you create in the Desktop Client.
-
You can preview the ENS items added to the ENS definition in the ENS summary. This includes any ENS items that contain a classification. For more information, see ENS preview summary.
-
You can control the display of ENS in the object create forms using the Relationship Builder. For more information, see Control ENS display in create forms.
