An export details object contains all the required parameters to run a Data Validator job that validates the documents and data in CSV files and exports them to a target system. It can also generate a control file in XML format for silently running a Data Validator job.

When do I select the Generate control file for silent job check box?

Select the Generate control file for silent job check box when SmartPlant Foundation and Data Validator are in different systems and are not connected to each other. The CSV files generated at the source system using the Exchange Data functionality will be placed in a shared location along with the control file for automatically creating a silent job for processing the data. The Data Validator job is created based on the polling interval set on the VTLSilentJobCreationScheduler.

  1. Click File > New > Exchange Data > Export Details in the Desktop Client.

  2. In the New Export Details dialog box, type a name and description for the export details object.

  3. In the Target system name text box, specify a target system name to export the data to. For example, if you have configured Target1 as the target system object in the Data Validator staging system, you can specify your target system name as Target1.

  4. Specify a configuration to export the data in the Target system configuration text box. For example, if you want to export your data to Project1, then you can specify as: ConfigurationTop~PlantA~Project1.

  5. In the User name text box, specify a user name for logging into the Data Validator Job Management module.

Type $UserName in the User name text box if you want the login user to be specified as the user name in the control file for silently running a Data Validator job.

  6. In the Job definition name text box, specify a job definition for running the Data Validator job.

  7. Select the Suppress ENS check box if you want the ENS to be suppressed and objects to be named according to the values in the CSV file.

  8. Select Generate control file for silent job to generate a control file to silently run a Data Validator job.
