Why do I need to generate an inconsistency report?

Inconsistency reports help you compare the properties of the objects for a selected document in different domains or different configurations. For example, you can compare information for an object in PID and S3D or an object in PlantA and PlantB, and so on.

You can generate the following inconsistency reports in Web Client. These reports give you a comprehensive view of the property differences and are output in Microsoft Excel format.

  • Published Data - Generates a report that compares object data across published domains, such as PID and S3D.

  • Concurrent Engineering - Generates a report that compares object data across projects in a specific plant configuration.

  • To view graphs and charts in the inconsistency report, you must enable all macros in Microsoft Excel. To enable macros, open Microsoft Excel and click File > Options > Trust Center > Trust Center Settings > Macro Settings > Enable all macros.

  • Microsoft Excel Macros are not supported on Android devices. Therefore you cannot view the summary sheet on an Android device. You can view the other sheets in the report.

  • You can only view inconsistency reports across configurations if you are either a CDWViewer or DWViewer user.
