EDE

  • Page Size

You can now set the size of your EDE page by entering the number of rows you want to view per page, in the View Properties (New) or View properties (Edit) dialog box > Page Size field. You can view between one to 3000 rows per page. The default value is 50 rows.

Favorites Tab

  • Items that you use on a frequent basis in the Domain and Reference Explorer, can be stored in the Favorites Tab for speedy access. You can store your items in a list or as folders of your making, allowing you to find and use them quickly and efficiently. Items added to the Favorites tab are available each time you login to SmartPlant Instrumentation.

  • The Login page of SmartPlant Instrumentation has been redesigned.

Message Ribbon

  • A new message ribbon has been added to the User Interface of SmartPlant Instrumentation that displays various different types of messages. These messages are color coded and displayed when working with EDEs, the integration To Do LIst, in the Query Builder, SQL Editor, or As-Built, and with the Find Items functionality.

Wrap Text

  • By default no text wrapping is applied to the EDE, Find, and To Do List columns. A shortcut menu has now been added that enables text wrapping to individual columns.

Integration

  • You can now propagate the carrier property Status to all the items that were created by the expansion macro.

  • It is now possible to publish revision properties from SmartPlant Instrumentation to SmartPlant Foundation. This is done by creating a custom schema and mapping the revision properties to SmartPlant Instrumentation. The revision properties are mapped to the Document Revision section of the SmartPlant Instrumentation Meta Data.xml file.

  • It is now possible to publish from SmartPlant Instrumentation to SmartPlant Foundation a Cable Schedule document. This document can then be retrieved by Intergraph Smartâ„¢ 3D where the design engineer responsible for cable routing is then aware that the cables may need separate routing. After routing, these cables can then be retrieved to SmartPlant Instrumentation with their length and routing path.

When publishing cable queries with connection properties, the From/To properties are not displayed in the view file. Instead they are published as relationships allowing for cable routing to be performed in Smart 3D. You can create a view only EDE (not publishable) by running in the SQL Editor the Cable Connection.sql file located in the SmartPlant Instrumentation home folder > SQL Folder.

  • In the Flat or Task view of the To Do List a new status icon Carrier Item is displayed when an Update, Delete, Overwrite, or Marked for Deletion task is applied to a carrier item (macro expansion). The carrier's sub-items are now displayed in the task properties as inactive (view only). Running the task only affects the carrier.

  • A new right-click menu has been added to the Macro-Expansion Carrier Properties Sub-Items dialog box that contains the following commands:

    • Cut

    • Copy

    • Paste

    • Delete

Search

  • A new search feature has been added to SmartPlant Instrumentation Modules selection toolbar that allows you to search both the Domain and Reference Explorers at the same time.

    • A Quick Search field that allows you to search the current domain for items in the Domain and Reference Explorers. The search results are displayed in item type groups, for example; Loop, Instrument, Cable (a maximum of four items per group are displayed initially). Each group can be selected individually to display more results, up to a maximum of 1000 results per group. The Quick Search allows for the use of wildcards to widen or narrow your search results. After reviewing the results of your search you can right-click an item and from a shortcut menu select a number of actions.

    • An advanced Search dialog box (available by clicking on the Search Search icon 16bit icon) where you can apply more specific search parameters such as Item Type, property values, case sensitivity, hierarchy level and so forth.

Filter

  • The new filter allows you to set a partial view of the hierarchy of the Domain Explorer and the Reference Explorer.

    • The filter can be applied to any node, starting from the root node in the Domain Explorer. It is available when you right-click any node containing items, and select .

    • By default, a filtered explorer can only be viewed by the user that defined the filter.

    • Filter settings are saved, until you clear the filter. Upon reopening the Domain or Reference Explorer, the hierarchy opens to the filtered view.

Cross Wiring

  • Cross wiring option is now enabled for inactive strips and inactive panels when at least one of its terminals is active. It enables you to cross wire between terminals of two strips, although only the terminals are active in the project (and the strips / panels are inactive).

I/O Assignment

  • I/O assignment option is now enabled for panels with inactive I/O cards, as long as one of the channels under the I/O card is active (note that for this action, the Instrument must also be active). When the I/O Assignment window opens, all the channels are listed (active and inactive), but you can only assign an active instrument to an active channel.
