  1. Click Workshare > Synchronize Reference Data from Copy.

  2. On the Synchronize Reference Data from Copy dialog box, click each Browse button and specify the paths to the copies of the reference data files.

You must have a live network connection to these files if they are not on your local computer.

  3. Specify a path for every file listed on this dialog box.

    • Until every path is specified, the OK command is not available.

    • The path you specify for the rules library is also used to determine the path for the PlantConfig.xml file.

  4. The Synchronize Reference Data dialog box opens and displays the progress of the synchronization operation.

  5. You can click View Log if you want to read notes on the synchronization operation.

  6. Exit and then re-open Drawing Manager.  You can now publish or get latest version of drawings.

  • If a satellite does not synchronize reference data, the satellite cannot publish or get the latest version of a drawing.

  • If you are using a Workshare environment in the SmartPlant P&ID Modeler and you are at a satellite site, you should not store custom layouts for the Engineering Data Editor or Plant Filters because when you synchronize reference data, you lose that information.

  • You can click Schedule to defer this task to a later time or schedule it on a regular interval. When the Schedule Task Wizard opens, follow directions in the wizard to complete the scheduling of this synchronizing operation.
