  1. In the SmartSketch Drawing Editor parent command, select the needed boundaries or plates intersecting the sketching plane using the Add Intersecting Item or Add Projection Item options.

  2. If the StructTopology toolbar is not visible, click Tools > Toolbars, select StructTopology, and click OK.

  3. Click Point at Minimum Distance .

    The Point at Minimum Distance toolbar appears.

  4. Select the measurement method.

  5. Select the first plate system.

  6. Select the second plate system.

  7. Click in the area of the point to create.

    A temporary point is placed where you clicked.

  8. Type offset values.

  9. Click Finish.

    The new point is created.

  10. If additional points are needed using the same plate systems, type new offset values and click Finish.

  11. If additional points are needed using the different plate systems, click Point at Minimum Distance again, and repeat the previous steps.

  12. Draw the needed geometry using the geometric construction points as constraints. You can also use other constraints, such as dimensions, as needed.

  13. Click Finish (in the top left corner of the 2D window) to close the 2D environment and return to the SmartSketch Drawing Editor parent command.
