Weld Attributes

The following attributes specify which welds to include in the Base Support data driven assembly:

Attribute Name

Description

Implementation Details

IJUAhsWeldPart::
WeldPart

Specifies the part number or the part class to use for the support.

To specify the value using WeldRule, do not specify any value for this property.

Option 1 - Specify a part number or part class directly.

Example:

WeldPart - S3Dhs_WeldPoint-2

WeldRule - ""

Option 2 - Use HgrRule to get the part.

Example:

WeldPart - ""

WeldRule - WeldByPipeSize

The repad weld is included if the support includes a repad part.

The cap weld is included if the support includes a cap plate part.

IJUAhsWeldRule::
WeldRule

Specifies the hgrSupportRule that returns the weld part number.

The hanger rule must be the name of an existing rule in the catalog.

To select the part number using Weld1Part, do not specify any value for this property.

IJUAhsBPlateWeld::
BasePlateWeldPart

Specifies the part number or the part class to use for the support.

To select the part number using BasePlateWeldPartRule, do not specify any value for this property.

IJUAhsBPlateWeldRl::
BasePlateWeldRule

Specifies the hgrSupportRule that returns the weld part number.

The hanger rule must be the name of an existing rule in the catalog.

To select the part number using BasePlateWeldPart, do not specify any value for this property.

Weld Location

Base support TypeAssy = 2

Base Support - Welds - Weld Location

Weld located between the Leg 1 part and the member part

Base Plate Weld

Base Support - Weld Location - Base Plate Weld

Weld located between the Leg 1 part and the Base Plate part

BOM Description

The default BOM description for the support includes SupportNumber and SupportDescription. Some supports include additional dimensions such as span or length in the following format:

<SupportNumber>, <PartDescription>, L = <BeamSpan>

The following example illustrates a typical BOM description:

  • SupportNumber: BS-01

  • PartDescription: Base support

  • BOM Description: BS-01, Base Support

You can specify the units of measurement for the support length using the following rules in the DDS_Rules sheet of the DDS_Assy.xls workbook:

  • SupportBOMPrimaryDistanceUnits

  • SupportBOMSecondaryDistanceUnits

  • SupportBOMDistancePrecisionType

  • SupportBOMDistancePrecision

For more information about the units of measurement in a BOM description, see Bill of Material Units.
