This section outlines a simple backup and restoration plan that can be used to reduce downtime and data loss in the event of a critical failure of the j5 production machine on a Microsoft Windows / SQL Server platform.

More advanced plans that give higher availability and less downtime are possible but are not covered by the scope of this document.
This section describes the requirements for data replication and file system replication but does not give a step by step guide to configuring database replication, exchange server mirroring or high availability web server setup. That functionality is directly related to third party on-site IT infrastructure and not to the j5 application.
