Help files

The Help files for HxGN EAM are English only in the initial delivery of a feature release. Translations will be provided in a subsequent patch.

Viewing menus and page layouts of system-delivered user groups

The menus and page layouts (screen designs) of system-delivered user groups (R5, R5REQ, and R5EMPTY) were deleted and recreated with the standard menus and page layouts for the latest version.

Unless specified, no other user groups’ menus and page layouts/screen designs were impacted.

As it is necessary, manually add any new screens to non-system-delivered user group's menus.

Tab availability for existing screens

Some new tabs added to existing screens are now available to all user groups with access to the main screen.

System-delivered Dataspies

All Dataspies delivered with the system (those belonging to the R5 user) were deleted and recreated with new default Dataspies.

New Dataspies created by the R5 user after installation are not impacted.

Advanced Reports (Cognos Reports)

With each new release of HxGN EAM, it is important to note that Cognos Schedules, Cognos Jobs and the contents in the “My Folder” folder may be deleted. Customer should verify the above after each upgrade.

Some custom reports may require modifying to continue working after an upgrade.

MULTIORG installation parameter settings and new installations

With new installations, the MULTIORG installation parameter defaults to the ON setting.

Important: If a MULTIORG=OFF install is needed, this must be specified in the installation configuration file prior to installation.

Custom images on the application server

Back up any custom images created, such as for Start Center, that are saved on the application server.

Flex SQL

There are a few scenarios within the application where creating a record can result in the record being created, and then immediately updated.

All known scenarios occur on the R5EVENTS table. With the introduction of new features with each release, it is possible this could occur on any table.

If Update Flex SQL exists on a table where this scenario occurs, it will fire when an Insert is done on the screen. If this happens, it may be necessary to modify the Update Flex SQL to compare Date Created to System Date or to look at the value of the XXX_Updated field.

Screen layout resolution

Screen layouts are optimized for a 1600 x 900 screen resolution.

e-Signature

For webservice requests which contain E-Signatures, the E-Signature user must be same as that of the logged in user when the webservice is authenticated with OpenID Connect ID token.

Screen Cache

When navigating between cached screens using the cached screen bar at the bottom of the screen, a record is NOT created in r5usage (turned on with the USAGE install parameter) because a server call is not made in this scenario. A record is always created if navigating using the menu because this does involve a server call.

GovCloud

GovCloud does not support the Energy Star integration.

Links to images

HxGN EAM is transitioning away from supporting linking to images for things such as Equipment profiles, User/Employee profiles, KPI/Inbox images, etc. In its place is the ability to upload an image. Both types will be supported to allow customers to transition.

This change does NOT impact Documents associated to records using the Documents tab at this time.
