Sets options for generating planning joints. The dialog displays automatically after you click Generate Planning Joints .
Filter Criteria
Allows you to filter the physical connections as All, Internal, Peripheral, and Common.
All
Filters all the internal physical connections and peripheral connections.
Internal
Filters the physical connections whose bounding and bounded objects are assigned to the selected assembly, assembly block, or block.
Peripheral
Filters the physical connections whose only bounding and bounded object is assigned to the selected assembly, assembly block, or block.
Common
Filters the physical connections for which both the connecting parts are assigned to selected assembly, block, or assembly block respectively. This option needs to have at least two assemblies, assembly blocks, or blocks.
Action
Defines what action the command performs.
Create
Creates new planning joints on the selected assemblies.
Update
Updates planning joints on the selected assemblies, assembly blocks, blocks, plates, profiles, and physical connections.
-
Select planning joints, and then click Update to only update the selected planning joints.
-
When you select a planning joint folder and click Update, the software updates any planning joints contained in child folders.
-
When you select assemblies, assembly blocks, blocks, plates, or profiles, the software uses the physical connections to update the corresponding planning joints.
-
You can update planning joints using the required name rule. See Name Rule in General Tab (Planning Joint Properties Dialog).
Delete
Deletes all planning joints on the selected assemblies.
Planning Joint Rule
Defines the rule from the catalog used to create planning joints.
You cannot change the planning joint rule during an Update or Delete action.
PlnJointRule Default
Creates planning joints for all edges of the physical connection. The thickness of connected plates determines the planning joints for the side welds of a physical connection.
PlnJointRule Single Weld
Creates one planning joint for a selected physical connection.
PlnJointRule Weld Category
Creates planning joints based on the weld bevel category. This rule creates one planning joint for a one-sided bevel category physical connection and two planning joints for a two-sided bevel category physical connection.
Apply
Processes the Generate Planning Joints command and commits the changes to the database.
Schedule
Displays the Schedule Planning Joint Generation dialog so that you can schedule the creation of the planning joints at some other time. This option is only available if you have selected a block, assembly, or an assembly block. See Schedule [Task] Dialog.
Cancel
Closes the dialog without saving your changes.
