The Schema Management module main window shows plant level entities for the selected application (engineering tool) under the categories: Properties, Lists, and List Items.

The module operates in two modes:

  • Standalone — When you open the Schema Management module, this mode is selected by default. Functionality for this mode is not enabled in the current software version. This mode will eventually be used to view and update plant and tool schema metadata; activities that are currently performed in the Desktop version by the Data Dictionary Manager. In Standalone mode, only the SOURCE button is available for selecting a different plant and application.

  • Integrated — This mode is only available for a plant and applications that have been registered with SDx and allows you to view, compare, and map metadata between the plant and tool schemas and the extended Common Schema generated by SDx after updates have been made in the latter by SDx development. When changing the mode from Standalone to Integrated, the selected plant and application move from the Source pane to the Target pane and the SDx data from the Common Schema is loaded automatically into the Source pane. In addition, the following buttons become visible for performing actions specific to Integrated mode: LOAD, COMPARE, MAP, and REPORTS. In the current release, full functionality in Integrated mode is supported for Smart 3D only.
