Using the interface definition owning group to control access impacts performance for operations, such as using shortcut menus, building forms, filling the properties grid, evaluating methods on shortcut menus, and others. The interface definition owning group access control is disabled by default to help improve performance. For more information on enabling this functionality, see Interface owning group access control.

If you have previously configured access control to form sections using owning groups with the ISPFInterfaceDefDataAccessGroup interface, you must set the property option to Interface in the Type of access control display item on each affected form after you upgrade.

The type of access for sections is set to None by default after upgrade, which allows all form sections to be visible without any access control. Selecting the Interface option allows you to continue to use owning groups to control access to sections. To help you locate all the affected forms configured to use owning groups, you can list them all by running the Forms with Owning Group Control report.

For more information on managing access to form sections, see Manage form section access control.
