Select Start > Run, type regedit, and then browse to the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ORACLE\HOME0 registry location.

Select the HOMEO folder, and then right-click and select New > String Value.
If you have more than one Oracle instance, you can have multiple Oracle HOMES. In
this case, be sure to select the HOME<#> folder that corresponds to the database instance
being used for Workshare.

Type USE_SHARED_SOCKET for the name of the new string value.

Select the new string variable, right-click and select Modify.

On the Edit String dialog, type True in the Value data field and then select OK.
