You can easily configure features and functionality of the Web Client so you can quickly
access your data and efficiently manage your tasks.
You can customize the user interface to control how the functionality and objects
are displayed, such as feature sets on the Home page.
Each feature set can be configured to contain a specific set of functions that display
as tiles. Each function can be configured to expose objects, carry out actions, or
run predefined searches. The functions can be made from either methods or API Entry
Points and can be configured to also appear as categories in the Search menu.
What are the rules for configuring the Web Client?
Feature Sets
-
Existing feature sets and their methods and entry points cannot be changed. You also
cannot change the display text, order, or groupings.
-
New feature sets can be created and populated with new custom methods and entry points.
They can also be integrated with third-party applications using web extensibility.
-
Methods and entry points cannot be disconnected from feature sets. These can only
be removed from the feature set by removing user access to the command.
-
If the command is needed in a new custom feature set, it should be copied and added.
-
The method conditions cannot be modified, because a condition may be used in many
places, it should be copied and replaced as needed.
-
New commands and entry points can be added to a feature set. However, additional changes
might be required with future releases to ensure that any changes are carried forward.
