Select the first end of the pipe run. You can filter your selection using one of these four options (All, End Feature, Pipe Nozzle, or Straight Feature).
If you select End Feature, Pipe Nozzle, or Straight Feature, be sure to reselect All after selecting the start of the run. All is the only filter where you can define points in model space, such as for turns in the pipe run.

-
Define the pipe run path.
Define the length and angle of the piping segment using the Length (6, SHIFT + 6 to lock) and Angle (7, SHIFT +7 to lock) boxes in the Route Pipe Controls dialog or in the graphics view. You can display/hide the graphic view dimension boxes by pressing D.
-
When you don't know the exact length but need to line up with other objects, use the middle mouse button to lock temporary restraints that you can use to align placement. For example, you can middle-click to lock the segment along the XZ plane when the glyph appears (1) and then select the object to align with (2).
-
You can also use the plane lock to help you align the pipe segment. In this example, the Elevation Plane lock is used to keep the pipe segment level while lining up the ends.
-
Select Close when you have finished.
