Short Code
Specifies the short code associated with the object.
Option Code
Displays the option for the selected component. In addition, the Option list contains any options defined in the piping specification for the selected short code. Selecting a value from the Option list updates the objects.
Position and Orientation
Length
Specifies the object length.
Move
Moves the selected object.
Move From Position (Ctrl + T)
Specifies the point from which to start the move.
Move To Position (T)
Specifies the point at which to finish the move.
No Constraint (CTRL + 6)
Objects are free to move in any direction.
East
Y-axis and Z-axis coordinates are locked. Object moves freely along the X-axis.
North
X-axis and Z-axis coordinates are locked. Object moves freely along the Y-axis.
Elevation
X-axis and Y-axis coordinates are locked. Object moves freely along the Z-axis.
Elevation Plane (CTRL + 1)
Z-axis coordinate is locked. Object moves freely in the X-Y coordinate plane.
East-West Plane (CTRL + 3)
X-axis coordinate is locked. Object moves freely in the Y-Z coordinate plane.
North-South Plane (CTRL + 2)
Y-axis coordinate is locked. Object moves freely in the X-Z coordinate plane.
Rotate (Ctrl + R)
Starts rotation for the selected object. See Rotate equipment for one example of how to use these controls.
Press RIGHT and select Rotate to rotate the object 90 degrees clockwise about the active axis.
Press LEFT and select Rotate to rotate the object 90 degrees counter-clockwise about the active axis.
Angle Step
Specifies the angle about the axis that the object rotates when you select Step Rotation . Enter a value in the Angle Step box or select a blank space in the control panel to remove the input focus from the box.
Press G to set the focus to the active graphic view.
Press CTRL+LEFT to rotate the object clockwise one step about the Axis.
Press CTRL+SHIFT+LEFT to rotate the object counter-clockwise one step about the Axis.
Step Rotation
Rotates the object corresponding to the defined angle one step about the active axis. This control is not available if Angle Step is undefined or is set to zero.
Select a blank space in the control panel to remove the input focus, and then press G to set the focus to the active graphic view.
Press SHIFT to rotate the object counter-clockwise.
Active Axis for Rotation (UP arrow)
Specifies the axis about which Smart 3Dx rotates the object. The available options include: X-Axis, Y-Axis, and Z-Axis.
This option does not display for grids.
Reposition Rotate Origin
Moves the rotation triad to a position that you specify. The rotation triad indicates the point about which the rotation occurs. Select a point in the graphic view to specify the new location.
Reset Rotate Origin
Moves the rotation triad origin to the origin of the selected object.
If keyboard shortcuts are not working when you move or rotate objects, select the application title bar to reset the focus. Smart 3Dx indicates focus by displaying the bright blue border.
Run
Displays read-only information about the parent run.
Parts
Click the Parts drop-down arrow to display a list of pipe parts related to the selected part. Select a part to open the Modify Pipe Component dialog and edit the pipe component properties.
Completion
Cancel (ESC)
Cancels all changes and exits the command.
Finish (CTRL + ENTER)
Saves all changes and exits the command.
