  1. Open Precision Input Precision Input ICON from the View Manipulation Toolbar.

  2. Turn on Offset and enter the offset distance.

  3. Select Piping Tab > Pipe Command S3D_Route_Pipe_Command to display the Route Pipe Controls.

  4. Select the first end of the pipe run. You can filter your selection using one of these four options (All, End Feature, Pipe Nozzle, or Straight Feature).

  5. Select or create a pipe run.

    • Select Select to select an existing run in a graphic view or in the System Hierarchy Explorer.

    • Select New Pipe Run S3D_Pipe_Run ICON to create a new pipe run to route. See Create a pipe run for instructions on creating a new pipe run.

    • Select More to select a pipe run that is associated with a different pipeline parent. See Select Run Dialog.

    • Select a recently used pipe run from the list.

  6. Define the pipe run path.

  7. Select a plane along which to measure the offset.

  8. Hover over the object to offset from to add it to the SmartSketch stack.

    • When you are offset from a surface, the surface highlights and the surface offset glyph displays.

    • When you are offset from an object, the object highlights and the offset glyph displays.

  9. Finish routing your pipe run and select Close S3D_Close.
