The work packages are created with a purpose and the purpose indicates the type of Material required to accomplish the tasks. We will be using the work package purpose to define the Material Type that will be used when the BOM list is issued to the Smart Materials system.
Each work package purpose in the system is mapped to one of the 3 material types – Shop, Field, and None. Administrator can update the mapping by changing the Material Type for the purposes.

Select a material type from the Material Type list and click Save to update the mapping.
The Allow Manual Entries column is by default checked for ‘None’ material type.
