  • Creating new Project Data Systems is only applicable when you plan to configure multiple Primavera systems.

  • Duplicate Project Data Systems are not allowed. You cannot share a mappings file between Project Data Systems. If you want a system to have the same mappings file, you must create a copy of the desired mappings file and its corresponding files and rename the copies to match the system name.

There are two ways to create new Project Data Systems: you can create a copy of a system, or you can create a new system.

Copy an existing Project Data System

If you have an existing Project Data System of the same type that you want to create, you can copy the existing Project Data System and change the system name to create a new Project Data System. See Create new Project Data Systems by copying existing Project Data Systems of the same type for more details.

Create a new Project Data System

If you do not have an existing Project Data system of the same type that you want to create, you can create a new Project Data System.

  1. In SmartPlant Foundation Desktop Client, go to Smart ConstructionNew Administration > Project Data System.

  2. Type the system name in the System Name box.

    The system name should be the same as the sheet name in the Excel workbook file that you are using for this system. It has a 31-character limit.

  3. Enter the following information exactly as it is written for the relevant boxes for your Project Data System.

  4. If you already have a schedule system with the appropriate connection information, select a schedule system to relate to the Project Data System. If you do not have an appropriate schedule system created, you can create an appropriate schedule system and fill out the Schedule System box in the Project Data System's Update menu with the information of the new schedule system. See Configure the Primavera Web Services schedule system for more information on creating schedule systems and relating schedule systems to Project Data Systems.

  5. Select the Securable item checkbox.

  6. Select Finish.

  7. Right-click on the new Project Data System > Manage Access Groups to assign your desired access group.
