Role management - HxGN SDx - Update 64 - Administration & Configuration

To manage the role assignments a user can make, there is a relationship set between specific roles. For example, a user can assign other users to roles that are managed by their role. So a user with a Project Manager role may assign other users to the Engineer role. However, the user cannot assign users to the Project Manager role.

You can use the User Management functionality to view or edit the roles being managed by another role and to view or edit the roles that manage other roles.

1. In the User Management page, select the role you want to update in the ROLE tab.

2. Select Actions > Update.

3. In Related Items, select the MANAGE ROLE tab or the MANAGE BY ROLE tab.

   1. Search and edit the roles that this role can manage in the MANAGE ROLE list.

   2. Search and edit the roles that can manage this role in the MANAGED BY ROLE list.

When you update a role, be sure it is linked to the roles that can manage it; otherwise, it will not be possible to assign users to the role.
