This feature is available only to the administrator and business administrator roles.

In the Web Client, you can customize the PDF rendition settings for supported file formats to generate a PDF. The customized rendition settings are applied to documents or file types when you generate their PDF renditions.

The customized rendition options cannot be applied to Hexagon file formats.

To do so, you must complete the following steps:

  1. In the Business Administration feature set, select Create Rendition Options.

  2. On the New Rendition Options form, do the following:

    1. In the Main details section, enter the Name for the rendition option.

      You can enter the Description for the rendition option.

    2. In the CAD options section, select the visual details as required.

      Description

      Color mode

      Select to generate the PDF in Color, Grayscale, or Monochrome.

      Layouts to include

      Select the graphical elements to include in the PDF.

      Allow thin lines

      Select to show thin lines when generating the PDF.

    3. In the General options section, select the necessary property details and enter the values wherever required.

      Description

      Markups as comments

      Select to use markups as comments. If this parameter is not selected, the markups are embedded in the PDF content.

      PDF/A compliant

      Select to validate the rendered PDF document for PDF/A compliance and convert it to PDF/A format.

      Width and Height

      Enter the width and height for the PDF.

    4. In the Related Items section, search and select a document or file type for which the PDF needs to be generated. For example, you can enter * to view the list of supported documents or file types, as shown in the image given below.

      • The rendition option related to the document is the default setting for generating PDF renditions. If a rendition option is not related to the document, the rendition option related to the file type is the default setting. If there are no rendition options related to the document or the file type, the pre-configured rendition option is the default setting.

      • By default, Default File Type is selected as the file type for PDF generation. This setting will be automatically chosen if no file type is selected or if the selected file type does not have a file type to PDF relationship.

  3. Select FINISH.

After relating a rendition option to a document, you can regenerate PDF renditions for files attached to the document using the same rendition option.

View rendition options for PDF generation

In the Business Administration feature set, select Rendition Options to display the Rendition Options Results page.

To update the rendition option, you can do the following:

  1. Select any rendition option from the Results page and select Actions > Update to display the Update form.

  2. Select the property details from the different tabs available and enter the values wherever required. For more information, please refer to Step 2 mentioned above.

  3. Click UPDATE.
