The software is configured to automatically notify users when they are assigned technical queries, actions, and document review plans, as well as the due dates of these items.

A notification is sent to the users with review plans when a new revision of the MDR document is submitted. A notification is also sent when a new review plan item is created using an overnight scheduler on an existing review plan. The following scheduler tasks are available out of the box.

  • SPFNotifyUserSchedulerTaskforTQ

  • SPFNotifyUserSchedulerTaskforAction

  • SPFNotifyUserSchedulerTaskforReview

  • SPFNotifyUserSchedulerTaskforConsolidation

You can receive reports for the task execution by configuring the SPFSchTskContextQueryConfig property on the scheduler task with all the required configurations in which your assigned tasks are present. For example, if you have assigned tasks in Project1 and PlantA, then the property has to be specified with PR_Project1~PL_PlantA.

The scheduler tasks run nightly by default, but you can change the frequency. The scheduler tasks process these workflow objects based on the due date criteria, such as overdue, coming due, and normal (not overdue or coming due). The task then finds the users related to the workflow step and sends those users a report of their assigned items.

For more information about schedulers, see Configuring schedulers.

Opt out of email notification

Users can request to opt out of email notifications only for technical queries that are normal (not overdue or coming due). To opt out, relate the user to SPFNotifyUserSchedulerTaskforTQ.

  1. In the Desktop Client, drag the user to the SPFNotifyUserSchedulerTaskforTQ object.

  2. Click OK to create the relationship.
