You can configure custom file extensions of the file types supported by the View and Markup Control through the Native file extension parameter. For example, .dgn is currently the native file extension of isometric file types with extensions .i01, i02, and so on. Similarly, .tif is currently the native file extension of file types with extensions t01, t02, and so on.

You can assign the native file extension by performing the following steps:

  1. Log on to Desktop Client as an administrator.

  2. Select File > New > Administration > File type.

  3. Enter the Name of the file.

  4. Enter the File extension and Native file extension.

  5. Select the Reference file type based on the native file extension.

You can only enter file types supported by the View and Markup Control as values for the SPFNativeFileExtension property.
