FTR tasks are initiated by an object create, update, and delete. The operations CheckIn, Signoff internally, and update an object. The classes and properties that are submitted are configurable as defined in How to Configure the Document Schema.
A separate task is created for each object and also for each physical file content indexing. Each scheduler task identifies one of the FTR operations (Index, Delete, or Re-Index).
The scheduler periodically queries SmartPlant Foundation server for FTR tasks to be processed and submits the request to the FTR Main Server. (The FTR Main Server details, that is, host name and virtual directory are obtained from ftrsettings.config file that exists at the same location as server's web.config file).
The FTR Main Server operates according to the type of action requested and returns the reply (that is, Task Status) to the SmartPlant Foundation Server.
