  1. Create a report and configure the information according to your requirements. For more information, see Create a new report.

  2. On the Edit Report Definition dialog, in the Background Adhoc Report section, select the Run in Background checkbox.

  3. Select Save to enable the report to run in the background.

    Only Excel (OpenXML), CSV, and CSV Repeated formats are supported to run in the background.

  4. Relate the report to one or more feature sets to view in the Web Client, using the Manage Adhoc Reports method. For more information, see Expose Adhoc reports in the Web Client.

  • To run the saved background report in the Web Client, you must not select a schedule date.

  • To run the saved background report in the Desktop Client, you must select a schedule date.
