Certain functionality available in Smart Instrumentation may not function in the same way, or be available for selection, in an integrated environment. These functions include:

View only EDEs cannot be published.

A view file can only be produced in a PDF format.

Publishing cables to Intergraph Smart™ 3D using SmartPlant Foundation is possible only with SPF v6.0 or higher.

When publishing cable queries with connection properties, the From/To properties are not displayed in the view file. Instead they are published as relationships allowing for cable routing to be performed in Smart 3D.

If required, you can create a view only EDE (for use with Smart Instrumentation only) to view the hidden cable properties, by running the Cable Connection.sql file located in the Smart Instrumentation home folder > SQL Folder in the SQL Editor.

When retrieving a cable from Smart 3D, the external cable length needs to be copied manually to the Cable Drum, Cable Length property.

Global revisions are only supported if Obtain revision from SmartPlant Foundation is not selected.

No global revisions are available for EDE’s. There is a batch revision if you have selected Obtain revision from SmartPlant Foundation.

Not all the functions available in the global revisions dialog box are available in the Find document to revise dialog box, for example Delete.

When obtaining a revision from SmartPlant Foundation for a document binder, a Spec package cannot be revised.

In an integrated environment all units must use the same naming convention.

You cannot change the name of a published drawing.

A User Defined Field (UDF) assigned to a select list cannot be mapped as an Enum to Enum field, and will be published as a string.

Publishing from a project is only possible with SmartPlant Foundation v6.0 or higher.
